FAQ’s

The answer is ‘YES’… There are three different types of camp to fulfil everybody’s requirements, drive and fitness levels. But on each break, everybody is pushed to their individual fitness level to also fulfil their stated requirements. But even when there are disparities in fitness levels, the training levels are altered to suit each individual. So weather you chose the – Train like a pro experience, Training and wellness Retreat, Back to Fitness Escape, or Team building activity getaway (for corporate groups), you will be sure to have a great time and be pushed to your own fitness levels.

After showing an interest in a Camp/retreat/escape, you will be contacted to talk about what trip you are looking to go on, to ensure booking the most appropriate break that fits in with your needs. Time and effort will also go into booking people in together who are around the same fitness levels.
You will be pushed/ challenged, but never be made to feel like you are out of your depth. Ross and other coaches will make adjustments throughout the camp where necessary so everyone gets the most out of their break.

Age is but a number…If you can walk and have the want to exercise more, then you are not too old. Ross has people in their 60s, still taking part in the higher level pro training camps, alongside younger, fitter people, because they want to be pushed, but again, all sessions are adjusted to each persons level, so all are welcome and encouraged.

Do I need to be able to jog/run?

There will be walks/jogs/runs on all breaks varying in distance and time, but if jogging/running is a problem bikes will be provided, or you will be walking, while others jog/run.

Definitely not, far from it.

Ross gets a lot of people that want to better their boxing, booking into a “Minter warm weather Train like a pro experience”, as this break can be used as a full boxing orientated break/camp, so we book groups of people that are wanting the same thing.  If people are not there for boxing, they will do the boxing fitness, but not the full on techniques and sparring. Each participant is on their own journey and gets 121 training and advice and there is no physical contact unless a person specifies that they want this. Boxing is Ross’ background and is great for all round fitness. On all Minter Training Breaks You will be doing some sort of ‘Boxing fitness’ and exercise, along with a vast choice of exercise/sporting activities, which push you to the levels required to make each participant fitter. Boxing is such a good way to achieve many things in body fitness and mental strength, technique and some punching on pads and bags are used, but again, no experience is needed.

In the “Back to fitness Escape” you will do some punching, but not actual boxing technique, (unless any individuals wants to learn more of coarse). Boxing training is such a good way to release built up stress and tension with hitting things, so we do use it in some daily in activities, but ‘No’, you don’t have to have boxed before.

During each break there is a lot of down time where people can relax and sunbathe on their own by the pools or on the beach, get some work done on their phones or laptops if required, chill with Ross and others, or take advantage of the added rest time in their room. There will be added activities to the set training sessions and some of these will be optional, so you can chose to chill, or do a bit extra, depending on how you feel.

The beauty of these breaks is that we keep the numbers low, to ensure everyone benefits from one to one training, the personal touch and not diluting the coach/client bond. So between 3 to 8 people can be expected on each break.

The swimming sessions we do are minimal and most are used for recovery sessions. We do have cold water therapy (plunge pool) sessions, but these are in shallow pools (3ft deep), so this shouldn’t be a problem either. You will be encouraged to do activities, but Ross and trainers will gauge and listen to people’s concerns and fears and will not force people to do anything they are truly not wanting to do.

Yes, we have had mixed sex training partners coming on breaks who have enjoyed these breaks. Though we do offer just male only and female only camps too, as most of the time people feel more comfortable in same sex groups and are often preferred.

Yes. You have the option. Same sex breaks are organised throughout the year and are fun filled and very successful, as are the mixed breaks.

Food/Nutrition is such an important aspect of training and well being. You will eat well and fuel your body, ready for the next training session, no one goes hungry. We have our own chef on hand ready to provide any nutritional needs to a high level. Also advice and guidance is given as to when and what to eat, but every individual has different needs and we find that people have to be reminded and encouraged to eat more, not the other way around. Whole foods are encouraged, while Low/No sugar and processed foods are steered away from. There is also no alcohol involved in our trips.

We have access to a top chef and a diverse selection of restaurants that caters for all, on and during the breaks. All participants will have a choice of what foods they eat and will not be asked to go on any kind of diet. Coaches will advise and help everyone on making the best choices for them when eating out, or when being cooked for in house. If people are coming away directly for weight loss, then their nutrition is looked at more closely, but in most cases people actually eat more food than they are used to and are often asked to eat more to speed up there metabolism and also to keep up with the added exercise on the trip.

We have all day to fit in the 2 – 3 sessions planned, so getting up early is not a necessity, plus sleep is very important for recovery. We typically meet at 7am, though a couple of earlier mornings may crop up depending on the camp type and the participants requirements.

Different Breaks have varied accommodation options, depending on the needs of the individuals. You will either be staying in an All-inclusive hotel. (Video) With your own double room (or twin room, sharing with a friend/family member if you choose), or in a villa/apartment, with your own room (or twin room, sharing with a friend/family member if you choose) sharing living space, kitchen and amenities with others on the break. (Video)

There are obviously different prices for the types of accommodation, but we can work towards giving you the best experience possible and make it as relaxing and enjoyable as we can, whichever you chose.

Once deposits are paid and passport photos are sent the flights are booked for you. Flights are from Gatwick airport with other participants. If you are coming from an area where it is easier to fly from another airport or airline, then you will have to arrange your own flight.

When landing, the transfers to and from the accommodation and the return trip to the airport are included and the journey is only a short 15 minute ride. The purpose of these breaks are for people to have choices, but not have to think, or stress about anything.

You will be sent a check-off list and short video of what you need to bring after you have made your booking. Due to consistent fair weather/climate, there is no need to pack excessive amounts of clothing. You will have a rucksack and either cary case or suit case booked on the plane, depending on baggage needs. If larger cases are required an extra baggage cost will be added to the final price.

The breaks include three meals (2 of which are buffet style). Drinks at Breakfast are included.

Any other drinks, snacks or meals outside of the three planned meals are extra!. Though most people are happy with the 3 meals.

Each person gets a supply of bottled water throughout the trip, but If you want snacks or different drinks you will have to purchase these from the local shops.

shop and Market visits are arranged, as some people want to buy bits to take back with them, but apart from this, there is nothing else to pay for.

Minter training is insured, but we recommend that everybody has travel insurance, as accidents and injuries do happen on occasion. There hasn’t been any injuries to date and everything is done to eliminate this from happening. But accidents can happen, so If someone does get injured, Ross and the other coaches work around these as best as they can, so the injured party can still do as much of the planned session as possible. Some people may be recovering and getting over injuries and operations especially on a’ back to fitness escape’, so it is common place to adjust/accommodate specific requirements to fit in with any issues.

You will have your own room. All hotel rooms are spacious, have your own bathroom and chilling area with everything you would expect from a 4*+ hotel.

On some occasions when the mane hotel is busy, Bungalows are booked, which are all part of the same hotel. In these you get your own double room, toilet & bathroom, plus a lounge area and kitchen.

If a cheaper break is booked away from the hotel, you will stay in a shared apartment, but you will still have your own room, these are comfortable and private, though WC, bathroom and living spaces are shared with others on the break.

If you are coming with someone, you will have the choice to share a twin room, or have your own.

There will be a slightly reduce the cost if you share a room with a friend..

All arrangements must be agreed 8 weeks prior to departure.

We do push for this, as it is always good to share the experience of a training camp/retreat/escape with someone you know.

On all breaks, we train in different gyms on our doorstep, The main one being Baileys Gym, which has everything under oner roof. We use the facilities and gym equipment which locals and other training camp goers may use to, but the gyms we use are amazing spaces, with friendly people, with enough space for all. A lot of the training is done in outdoor gyms and areas to take full advantage of the sun and fresh air. (Video)
