About Ross Minter
When they say boxing is in the blood, for former professional boxing champion and elite fitness trainer Ross Minter this couldn’t be truer.
The son of former British, European and undisputed world middleweight boxing champion Alan Minter, Ross quite literally was born into boxing and fitness growing up, surrounded by many of boxing’s iconic names during one of the sport’s greatest eras.
Born in 1978, Ross was always obsessed with sports and fitness. A keen footballer during his school days as well as a talented cross-country runner, neither sport would hold his interest quite like boxing and the lure of following in his father’s footsteps to become a champion in his own right eventually took over and at 13 years old. Ross began a journey that would ultimately see him win multiple professional titles over a 70-fight career and become the number 1 ranked challenger to fight for the WBU world title.
Utilizing his wealth of boxing knowledge and fitness experience, Ross has established himself as one of the country’s go-to personal trainers for boxing tech and fitness, helping his 1 to 1 clients and groups learn boxing techniques, improve fitness and achieve their weight loss goals too.
After calling time on his own professional career at the age of 30 in 2009, Ross now dedicates his time to improving the lives of others through his ‘Minter Boxing and Fitness training programs which are tailored to every age and level of ability.
In addition to his UK-based boxing and fitness programs, Ross also runs ‘Minter Warm weather training breaks’ in Fuerteventura – Spain, training clients in Retreat style escapes, focusing on improving mental and physical fitness and eating habits/nutrition. On his train like a pro fitness and boxing camps people can experience what it truly feels like to train like a professional athlete and dramatically improve their fitness.
Incorporated into his training philosophy, Ross also utilises his passion for mindfulness, meditation and breath work, which has had huge benefits to his own personal wellbeing. During his time as a pro, Ross was plagued with serious injuries that had a big impact on both his physical and mental well-being, and Ross wants to help others benefit from attaining a strong mind as well as a fit body. A firm believer that the way that you think, or how you deal with feelings or pain has a big effect on the outcome of your life and your fitness journey, Ross brings this approach to all the trips he runs.
Ross is a first-aider and a qualified Level 2 ABA coach, currently training junior and adult boxers at Redhill Amateur Boxing Club. He has obtained vast experience from the variety of Trainers/coaches in the fitness industry who looked after him during his career and through coaching a varied mix of people over the years too.
A message from Ross –
If you are male or female, fit or not, slim of overweight, I hope I can help you on a 121 training basis, and/or get you on the correct break for you, to help you improve your life with an enjoyable journey to more exercise, healthy eating habits and a strong/positive mindset for your growth. Also I hope I can show you how easy it is to turn negativity into positivity with motivation and mindfulness tips. So whatever break you chose, I take your improvement very seriously and strive to get the results you are looking for as well as having a great break and a bit of rest and fun thrown in too.
